Land Use Study Committee

The Land Use Committee has achieved its goal! We want to express our sincerest gratitude to each Committee Member for your help and guidance in leading our town through the Land Use Plan process. We believe your work in facilitating our Land Use Plan, winner of the prestigious TAPA award, will successfully shape the direction of responsible development in Walden for years to come. 

The Town of Walden approved the Town of Walden Plan in March 2022 after a year of collecting data and gathering community feedback. This land use plan's purpose is to guide Walden officials and developers through the vision and design elements of the plan, plus updating zoning and ordinances to help steer alignment.

Public input was critical to the planning process and included community engagement throughout. Outside experts brought their experience working in other places, and residents brought their experience living, working, and playing in their community. The goal was not to achieve unanimity but to achieve consensus on direction. The final plan provides a clear, straightforward blueprint for the future of Walden.
